Mobile security – why you may just need to.
I came across this article in The Age which highlights an increase need for mobile security or as bold to say, personal security. http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/explosion-in-thefts-drives-victorias-spiralling-crime-rate-20160615-gpk4p2.html .
I came across this article in The Age (insert Article). As I read it, I could relate. In the last year a close family member living in bayside became the victim of ‘car burglary and theft’. Not just once, but twice in the span of one week. The thieves smashed car windows and stole items from the inside of their car. All this whilst they were sleeping.
Needless to say the family were horrified, terrified and left feeling exceptionally vulnerable. The stress rose exponentially when they were hit the second time in the same week. From the moment this occurred, they too felt the need to install their own home CCTV. So it was done and we were happy to help. They now have modern technology working for them, and it works splendidly!
For those who aren’t familiar with the more current CCTV’s, whilst you are away managing life, your business, your work and so on you can see what goes on around your home from the touch of a button from your mobile phone. It is 24 hour access, 24 hour security. But more importantly 24 hour piece of mind.
As one can appreciate, I see a lot in my field of work therefore this article and the reported statistics of the massive increase in crime in Victoria just does not surprise me. It’s frightening, and I can say that it is literally happening in our backyard, causing stress, distrust, anger, fear and loathing within our community. The people we should be able to rely on and get on with. Soon the harmony within our communities will be a thing of the past.
In my opinion, the government needs to ramp it up, and ramp it up now! Ramp up recruitment of police officers, introduce severe laws, punishment and rehabilitation for gun possession, theft and burglary.
But whilst the government procrastinates about how to tackle the problem of crime I can recommend that you take the protection of your family seriously and into your own hands.
Install a CCTV or the like, or if you are feeling vulnerable, hire a security guard. If you own industrial property, protect it. It may just need the hire of mobile security or an upgrade of CCTV instillation.
Protecting your assets, protecting your family does not need to come at a massive cost, it’s affordable and achievable.
